Sweet Nothings

John Kerry is again declaring a need to revisit old trade agreements. As the Bush administration is likely to point out (as does the article), Kerry's voting record is very pro-trade. I'm hoping that this is just an example of politicians pandering to voters.

This is why I'd make a bad politician (or rather, would never get elected). If my constituents were convinced that the best thing for them was to add lead to their drinking water, and they tended to get angry at anyone who claimed otherwise, I would NOT say, yes, putting lead in your drinking water leads to a healtheir society.

Protecting American workers HURTS American workers in the aggregate. American economic might wasn't built on protectionism.
